Intro to Lacrosse Clinic
(No Equipment Needed!)
Who: For Boys and Girls ages 8-14
When: Four Mondays in June 6:00-7:00pm (June 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd)
Where: Elkhorn High School Auxiliary Turf Field (1401 Veterans Drive, Elkhorn, NE 68022)
What: This introductory clinic is designed to teach all the basic skills of throwing, catching, groundballs, shooting, defensive positioning, and basic attack concepts. We will use a game-based approach to practice our skills and end our clinics with small-sided scrimmages. This will be a non-contact environment (no checking), so there is NO EQUIPMENT REQUIRED [pads, helmets, mouthguards, or eyewear/goggles (girls)]. We will be using a softer ball that mimics the weight of a real lacrosse ball, but is not as hard as the condensed rubber of a real ball. Lacrosse sticks are provided, but feel free to bring your own if you have one!
Cost: $80

USA Lacrosse's Flex 6 Scrimmage League
Who: For Boys and Girls ages 8-14 Those who have had some experience playing lacrosse before who want to improve stick skills and lacrosse IQ (field sense) in a fun, game-oriented setting. All skill levels welcome.
When: Four Mondays in June 7:00pm-8:00pm (June 2nd, 9th, 16th, & 23rd)
Where: Elkhorn High School Auxiliary Turf Field (1401 Veterans Drive, Elkhorn, NE 68022)
What: Each session will begin with warm-ups and a point of emphasis/learning for the week. Then teams will be divided and the remainder of the time will be spent playing a game in a small-sided scrimmage. Scrimmages could be anywhere from 3v3 to 6v6, depending on numbers, so there will be plenty of touches for everyone!
These will be non-contact (no checking) games, according to USA Lacrosse's Flex 6 rules, so no equipment is needed. We will be using a Swax Lax ball (mimics the weight of a real lacrosse ball, but softer) to allow players to participate without the usual protective gear. Not only will this be more comfortable in the summer heat, but it allows players to really focus on basic skill development, off-ball movement, team strategy and game sense.
Cost: $80
