The EAA Futures Basketball program gives young athletes a clear path to grow in the game while learning the value of teamwork, effort, and fun. It begins with Jr. Futures, a four-week program created for 4- and 5-year-olds who are just being introduced to basketball. Jr. Futures focuses on the very basics such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and movement while providing a positive, welcoming environment that helps kids build confidence and excitement for the sport.
From there, players can continue in Futures, our recreational program for boys and girls in kindergarten through 4th grade. Futures emphasizes learning the game the right way by teaching fundamental skills, introducing team play, and fostering sportsmanship. The program provides young athletes with valuable game experience while keeping the focus on development and fun.
For athletes in 5th and 6th grade, Futures Plus serves as the next step and offers a higher level of competition for players who are not yet ready for Nebraska Impact, EAA’s elite select basketball program. Futures Plus bridges the gap between recreational play and select competition by giving athletes the chance to sharpen their skills, learn advanced concepts, and prepare for future opportunities. Together, these programs make EAA Futures Basketball the perfect place for every young athlete to find their place on the court.
Jr. Futures is a program for preschool aged kids 4-5 that are not quite old enough for the Kindergarten Futures basketball program, or trying to prepare for the Kindergarten Futures program. Presented by HoopRank, this program provides a great environment to learn the game of basketball. There will be no teams/games for this age group.
During each session, experienced coaches will lead engaging and interactive activities and games, aimed at fostering a passion for basketball while helping your child develop fundamental skills such as dribbling, footwork, passing, and teamwork. Our focus is not on winning or losing, but rather on creating a positive and enjoyable experience that encourages a lifelong love for the sport.
As part of our program, children will have the opportunity to participate game like situations, where they can put their skills into practice in a fun and supportive setting. These games are designed to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among participants.
We believe that by instilling a love for basketball at a young age, we can empower children to pursue their dreams and continue to play and enjoy the sport for many years to come.

First, THANK YOU! Every youth sports program depends on the spirit and energy of volunteers. You will have an opportunity to indicate you are willing to volunteer as a head or assistant coach when you register your child. All volunteer coaches are required to successfully complete all EAA coaching requirements prior to receiving their team roster and coaching their team at practice and games- no exceptions.
